BOLLYWOOD glamour came to the traditional Yorkshire seaside today (September 3).

Filming of the forthcoming movie, Shaandaar, took place at Saltburn and Marske and more filming is planned across Yorkshire and at Low Force in Upper Teesdale, County Durham.

Key members of the crew have come from India but other members were hired in the UK by Darlington line-producer, Karl Hall, who is based in Leeds.

Mr Hall, who grew up on Abbey Road, Darlington, said: "It's a big film, a comedy about two families who come to England for a big wedding. We chose Saltburn because it's such a nice venue, the nicest we could find. It's a very exciting project."

Mr Hall said the film had a crew of about 40 although extras, including bikini-wearing young women at Saltburn, are drafted in. The movie would feature some of the big dance numbers Bollywood films are famous for.
