A PEACE activist is set to deliver a talk about his experiences as a human rights observer in Israel and Palestine.

Jonathan Adams, who spent three months as an Ecumenical Accompanier in the region during 2012, will share some of what he learnt living in East Jerusalem and answer questions on time spent in Israel and the West Bank.

He acted as a ‘protective presence’ as part of the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme - a World Council of Churches project - in which participants provide a protective presence to vulnerable communities, monitor and report human rights abuses and support Israelis and Palestinians to work together for peace.

The talk, organised by Teesside Friends of Palestine, takes place at 7pm on Wednesday, April 30 at North of England Refugee Service, 49 Grange Road, Middlesbrough. The event is free and light refreshments will be provided.
