BUSINESSES have been urged to sign up for a skills event.

The seventh Tees Valley Skills and STEM event will take place at Teesside University's Olympia Building on Thursday, July 5.

The event will be hosted by Tees Valley Combined Authority, in partnership with North Yorkshire Business and Education Partnership (NYBEP), Teesside University, Tees Valley Learning Provider Network and Sirius Minerals.

It follows the announcement by Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen to launch a £3m careers initiative to help school leavers and students.

Mr Houchen said: “This event is invaluable for both students and businesses alike to highlight routes to employment, training, apprenticeships and vacancies while showcasing our fantastic local businesses.

“I would ask all employers big and small to get involved."
