THREE occupants of a car were injured after it flipped over on a busy road.
The accident on the A174 in Middlesbrough, between Ormesby Bank and the A172 interchange, closed the westbound carriageway for a period with traffic being diverted away from the scene.
Police were first to the scene shortly after 6pm on Wednesday amid reports that those in the car were trapped.
They alerted Cleveland Fire Brigade who sent three appliances to the scene. The brigade said no action was required to free the occupants, although it did make the vehicle involved safe.
The road was cleared of debris before being re-opened.
