ONE of Britain’s biggest pop stars is to perform an open air concert in the North-East later this year.

Rita Ora, who has also appeared as a judge on The X Factor and The Voice UK, will be performing at Middlesbrough’s Stewart Park on August 24.

The singer, whose hit singles include How We Do (Party), I Will Never Let You Down, Your Song and Anywhere, will be headlining the all new Endeavour Festival in the park, and will be supported by former X Factor winner Louisa Johnson, who Ora mentored during her time on the show, and musician Hannah Jane Lewis.

The artist has had four UK number one singles and her debut self titled album went platinum, selling more than 350,000 copies.

She was also the artist with the most number-one singles on the UK Singles Chart in 2012, with three consecutive singles reaching the top position.

A spokesperson for Endeavour said: “We’re proud to announce that one of the UK’s biggest artists Rita Ora will be headlining the all-new Endeavour on Friday, August 24.

“Rita Ora has been leaving her mark on the music scene consistently for years, with her tendency to release some of the UK’s biggest hits.

“After selling out her most recent UK tour in record time, Rita Ora still isn’t done for this year and is set to be releasing her latest album before the year’s out and we cannot wait to welcome her to Middlesbrough’s Stewart Park..

“Supporting her will be Louisa. Since her rise to fame, Louisa has released some of the biggest singles over the last few years, which include collaborations with the likes of Clean Bandit and Olly Murs.”

The event is scheduled to start at 6pm.
