A JOINT investigation is underway after two cars were destroyed and a property was damaged by a 'suspicious' fire in Middlesbrough.
Emergency services were called to Gypsy Lane in Marton, in Middlesbrough, just after 1.30am this morning after two cars were engulfed in flames.
The fire spread across the driveway to the property, which suffered damage to the ground floor and smoke damage to the first floor as a result.
No one was hurt as a result of the fire.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said the circumstances surrounding the fire were “suspicious”.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Fire Brigade said: “There were two cars well-alight on driveway and two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatus were used.
“There was moderate to severe smoke and fire damage to the ground floor, and smoke damage to the first floor. Both vehicles were destroyed.”
