DRUGS worth more than £20,000 have been seized following a raid on a Middlesbrough house.
Officers from Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team and Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit recovered the drugs from an address on Outram Street, in the Newport area of the town.
A quantity of suspected Class A and Class B drugs with an estimated street value of in excess of £20,000 was recovered from the address.
Cleveland Police also found several weapons including a knife, machete and sword at the address along with £455.00 in cash.
A 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were arrested at the address on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B controlled drugs and are currently in police custody.
Acting Sergeant Ian Brown said: “As a result of working in partnership with the people of Newport we have managed to take a substantial amount of suspected drugs and weapons from the streets, which would have no doubt caused misery to countless people."
