POLICE are warning the public to be cautious if they are offered an expensive watch for sale after one was stolen from a shop in Middlesbrough.

Cleveland Police are appealing for information after a Rolex watch was stolen from Goldsmiths Jewellers on Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred on Thursday, October 12 at 3.15pm when a man walked into the jewellers and requested to try on a Rolex watch.

The man then managed to avoid the staff in the jewellers and leave wearing the watch.

The man is described as being a white male in his early 20s.

He is around 5 ft 8” tall, of very slim build with dark brown hair and he was also clean shaven.

He was wearing dark blue jeans, a white long sleeved top with a navy blue body warmer.

Anyone who has been offered the Rolex watch for sale or who may know the whereabouts of the watch are asked to contact PC Chris Hirst of Cleveland Police on the 101 number.
