A ROBBERY victim suffered a cracked rib and collapsed lung when he was attacked in Middlesbrough last month.

Police say the robbery happened at around 11pm on Thursday, August 24 as the 27-year-old male victim walked along Parliament Road, adjacent to Ayresome Primary School and Ayresome Gardens.

The victim was approached from behind by two male offenders who pushed him to the floor before punching and kicking him in a sustained assault.

The suspects went through the victim’s pockets, stealing money and other personal items.

They are described as white males, around 6ft tall, both wearing black clothing with their hoods up and scarves across their faces.

Passing members of the public disturbed the offenders, who then ran off across Ayresome Gardens towards Crescent Road. Police would like to speak to these members of the public as they may be able to assist with enquiries.

Cleveland Police said the victim received medical treatment following the incident.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or those responsible is asked to contact PC Tom Lambert on the non-emergency number 101.
