A CYCLIST suffered a broken leg in a crash in rush-hour traffic.

The incident, which happened on the A177 at Thorpe Thewles with the junction of Wynyard Road at around 7.30am yesterday, involved a blue Ford Fiesta, a blue Nissan Micra and the cyclist.

The driver of the blue Nissan Micra left the scene and officers would ask the driver of the vehicle, or anyone with information as to the identity of the driver, to contact them.

The 41-year-old male cyclist was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, where he remains while receiving treatment.
