A WOMAN has been robbed as she was getting into her car parked in a town centre.

The 53-year-old had her handbag snatched at around 8am on Friday morning near to the junction of Oliver Street and Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough.

The suspect then ran off along Oliver Street and he was pursued by two male members of the public.

Officers have spoken to one of the men but would like the other man to come forward as he may be able to assist with enquiries.

It is believed the suspect is around 30-years-old with short brown mousey hair and he had a scar on his left cheek. He was also wearing mint green shorts and a dark hooded top.

The victim was uninjured.
