A MAN was hit over the head with a bottle, then robbed of cash and his jacket.

Police are appealing for information after the 29-year-old man was attacked while walking across the wasteland area between Diamond Road and Waverley Street, near to the rear of Parkfield Nursing Home in Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred on May 23 at 11.15pm when the victim was approached by three men.

One of them hit the man over the head with a bottle.

The men then took the victim’s cash and leather jacket.

"As a result of the attack, the victim suffered head injuries and a broken nose and was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he received treatment," said a spokeswoman for Cleveland Police.

"One of the male attackers is described as being white, of skinny build and middle aged."
