A TEAM of young kick boxers are heading across the Atlantic to compete in a world championships.
Fighters at MAX Training Academy in Middlesbrough will attend the World Karate and Kickboxing (WKC) championships in Orlando, Florida in November.
Members of the academy returned from last year’s World Championships in Portugal with 15 medals, and now, with the support of Boro Taxis, are hoping for another successful trip.
Samantha Johnson, MAX Training Academy manager, said: “The support of Boro Taxis has been fantastic - attending competitions abroad can be very expensive, but having their backing means that we don’t need to worry about fundraising and can concentrate on the training."
Christine Bell, director at Boro Taxis, said: “We were so proud of the team’s achievements last year that we wanted to make sure they had the chance to win even more medals this year.”
