A BY-ELECTION will be held in Middlesbrough this week.
On Thursday, votes will be cast to determine who will represent the Coulby Newham ward on Middlesbrough Council.
The by-election was called following the resignation of Cllr John Cole, with the resulting poll taking place between 7am and 10am.
Those vying for the role are the Green Party’s Emma Alberti and Conservative Jacob Young, both from Linthorpe, and independent Mike Allen and Labour’s Annalise Higgins, both from Coulby Newham.
Polling stations will be open in Coulby Newham at Sunnyside Academy on Manor Farm Way, Langdon Square Community Centre, the Lingfield Ash meeting hall and Rose Wood Academy on Coulby Farm Way.
Voters are not required to bring their poll card but will be asked for their name and address by polling station staff.
