APPRENTICES from Middlesbrough have been crowned the winners of the 2017 Tees Valley Apprenticeship Challenge.
A team of five from Middlesbrough Council’s Community Learning Service took the honours as part of the National Apprenticeship Week.
The group joined in a friendly battle with teams of fellow apprentices from Darlington, Hartlepool, Stockton and Redcar and Cleveland councils in a range of activities including archery, den building, team games and orienteering.
The Apprenticeship Challenge – now in its fifth year - took place at Hartlepool’s Summerhill outdoor Activity Centre.
The winning team members from Middlesbrough Laura Harrison, Dillon Newton, Amelia Graham, Chloe Gill and Holly Davies - were awarded a medal and each received a congratulatory gift voucher.
Ann White, apprenticeships coordinator for Middlesbrough Community Learning, said: “It was a great day enjoyed by all and our team excelled themselves with their enthusiasm and team spirit.
“They are a credit to Middlesbrough Council and their respective organisations.”
