A £30M snow centre development near the River Tees in Middlesbrough will go before councillors for consideration next week.

Cool Runnings (NE) Limited want to build a centre with two ski slopes, a nursery slope for beginners, and a main slope for more advanced skiers, on a seven-acre site close to the Riverside Stadium.

The development would also feature an ice climbing wall, a “skydive” arena, climbing wall, soft play area and trampolines as well as cafes and restaurants. A bar made out of ice is also planned as part of the development, which will create 300-350 direct jobs. It goes before Middlesbrough Council’s planning committee on Friday, March 31.
