RESIDENTS in Middlesbrough are being invited to take part in events to support their local communities through litter picks and community garden makeovers, as well as bigger projects.

Community Action Days are aimed at helping people make a difference to their local environment and take place on the last Friday of each month, from 10am to 3pm. The first of 2017 takes place on Friday, January 27 in partnership with River Tees Rediscovered.

Organisers are looking for young people, along with their friends and family, to help improve a section of Ormesby Beck along Teesdale Way, clearing litter and vegetation and improving the beck to ensure clear water movement.

Volunteers are asked to wear warm suitable outdoor clothing and waterproof boots - gloves and equipment will be provided on the day.

Anyone who would like to get involved is asked to meet at the Navigation Inn car park on Marsh Road at 10am.

For more information about Friday, January 27 or to discuss other projects, call Nicky or Casper on 01642 579839/579832 or email Nicky at nicky.morgan@menvcity.org.uk
