A UNIQUE eatery is changing lives days after opening in Middlesbrough.
The Fork in the Road opened on Christmas Eve and offers opportunities to those needing a second chance in life.
At the restaurant, experienced catering professionals mentor trainees including ex-offenders, those recovering from addiction and the long-term unemployed.
The not-for-profit venture is funded by CEO Sleepout and Public Health England and supported by Teesside businessman Andy Preston, who said: “We want people to come and enjoy great food and atmosphere in the knowledge that they’re helping us do some good for the Teesside community.”
The restaurant, on Linthorpe Road, is the first in the town to adopt an official no-tipping policy.
