A CHRISTMAS remembrance service for lost babies will be held this weekend.

Those affected by the loss of a baby are invited to the event, taking place at the Grove Hill Methodist Church in Middlesbrough on Sunday, December 4.

Led by James Cook University Hospital’s chaplain, Sarah Ramsden, the service will include the reading of children’s names, a chamber choir and the lighting of a Christmas tree.

Organiser and advanced neonatal care nurse practitioner Caroline Buckley said: “We held the first of these last Christmas and plan to do so on the first Sunday of December each year.

“Anyone who has been affected by the loss of a baby is welcome to attend.”

The service will take place from 3pm. For more information or to have your child’s name read out, contact the hospital’s neonatal unit on 01642 854871.
