TWO men have been bailed by police in connection with an attack which saw a dog buried alive with a nail through its head.
The men, aged 60 and 59 and from the Redcar area, were arrested on Friday afternoon by Cleveland Police on suspicion of animal cruelty, an RSPCA spokeswoman said.
A spokesman for Cleveland Police said on Friday night: "The two men arrested on suspicion of cruelty following the discovery of a severely injured dog in Kirkleatham woods have been bailed pending further enquiries."
The white male terrier dog was put down by vets after being found in Kirkleatham Woods in Redcar, east Cleveland.
