CHILDREN were allowed to “doodle” on the huge windows of Middlesbrough’s art gallery this week.
Biology students from Teesside University joined children attending mima’s popular art trolley session, to create a special science-themed event as part of National Biology week.
Claire Pounder, Education Officer at mima added: “Children from as young as two took part in the event and together with the students they thoroughly enjoyed doodling on mima’s large glass windows as they explored art and biology.
“The children and students investigated a creative collaboration between art and science as they discovered genetic coding, ecosystems and the magic of cells.”
Dr Helen Carney, Senior Lecturer in Molecular Biology at Teesside University said: “The staff and undergraduate biology students had a fantastic time making art with the children.”
