POLICE are appealing for help in tracing a taxi driver after a man was found with injuries in Middlesbrough.
Officers believe that the 66-year-old man, who was found with facial injuries at the junctions of Normanby Road and Trunk Road in the South Bank area of Middlesbrough at around 6.10am on Friday, September 23, may have travelled towards the area by taxi.
They are now appealing for help to trace the taxi driver who may have taken the man from Redcar sea front area towards South Bank in the early hours of that morning.
A man and woman from the South Bank area have been arrested in connection with the incident.
A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and theft and a 38-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of theft. Both have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
The man was continuing to receive treatment at James Cook University Hospital on Tuesday.
