THE driver of this car was well and truly caught by the bollards after failing to outwit tailing police interceptors.
Earlier this evening, police tried to stop the Fiat Punto in the Brambles Farm area of Middlesbrough.
There was a short pursuit which stopped abruptly when the driver tried to shake off the police car by trying to squeeze between two concrete bollards.
However, the gap proved too narrow and the Punto became wedged.
A spokesman for Cleveland and Durham RPU said: "The driver thought his car was smaller than it actually was!"
The driver was taken into custody and the Fiat was recovered.
