PEOPLE are being encouraged to sign up for the 2016 Tees Pride 10k Road Race.

For more than a decade the race has proved a hit with runners, joggers, walkers and charity fundraisers – and there’s still plenty of time to get in shape for this year’s event.

The race, which takes place on Sunday, September 4, also features the SABIC 3k Fun Run.

This week representatives of the key sponsors gathered at Acklam Hall, Middlesbrough, to officially launch this year’s event.

Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing director at headline sponsor Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, said: “This race is a real highlight in our calendar and a few of our own team members are taking part once again.”

Cllr Lewis Young, Middlesbrough Council’s executive member for culture, leisure and sport, said: “The runs have something for everyone, regardless of age of ability, and over the years have helped to raise a huge sum for some great causes.”
