THREE people have been arrested following drug raids in Middlesbrough yesterday (July 11).

Police officers executed warrants in order to enter houses in the Grove Hill area as part of a Day of Action on the estate which involved acting on information received from the community.

Three people were arrested following drugs warrants being executed at three separate addresses and a small amount of what is believed to be Subutex (a Class C drug) was recovered, along with several thousand pounds cash.

Detective Inspector Steve Kappel said: “Residents in Grove Hill came forward to tell police about drug dealing and other crime in their community and we took decisive action to tackle these issues.

“I would like to thank all those who provided information and to reassure our communities that we will always act on intelligence about drug dealing which can blight neighbourhoods and make life a misery for the law abiding majority."
