BUSINESSES are on the look-out for fresh talent in Middlesbrough and will have more than 300 jobs up for grabs at a recruitment event.

The latest job fair takes place at Middlesbrough College on Wednesday, July 13, featuring positions the hospitality, customer service, finance, health and social care and manufacturing sectors.

Companies offering new career opportunities include the new Holiday Inn Express, Hitachi, Marstons, the NHS and Barclays – and the event will also feature more than 100 apprenticeship opportunities.

The National Careers Service, Middlesbrough Community Learning and the Department of Work and Pensions will also be on hand to provide support and guidance in completing applications and looking for work.

The event – organised by Middlesbrough Council – will also see the launch of the Tees Valley Youth Employment Initiative Middlesbrough partnership aiming to help young people aged 15 to 29 move into employment and learning opportunities.

Middlesbrough Mayor Dave Budd said: “Middlesbrough is well established as the economic heart of the Tees Valley City Region, and that’s increasingly reflected in the range and quality of businesses choosing to invest here.

“They’ve seen the town’s potential as a key leisure and business destination and they’re bringing the jobs and career opportunities that will underpin a prosperous future.”

The Job Fair takes place at Middlesbrough College Wednesday, July 13 from 10am – 3 pm. Admission is free. For further information visit www.middlesbrough.gov.uk/recruitmentevents
