The Middlesbrough Mela takes place over the weekend of Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10, boasting a line-up of quality music, food and entertainment.

The weekend promises a heady mix of world class music, a wide range of entertainment, a family fairground and a popular bazaar, packed full of stalls.

Mela chairman Satnam Singh said: “It’s one of the best celebrations of culture and diversity anywhere in the UK, and a true symbol of Middlesbrough’s community spirit.”

The event is organised by Middlesbrough Council in conjunction with a local community steering group, with backing from a range of sponsors including Middlesbrough College and the Police and Crime Commissioner.

The entertainment takes place in Centre Square between the Town Hall and mima from noon to 6pm on Saturday, July 9, and noon to 7pm finale on Sunday, July 10.
