LEADING businesses on the look-out for fresh talent in Middlesbrough have hundreds of jobs up for grabs at a recruitment event next month.

A job fair takes place at Middlesbrough College on Wednesday, July 13, featuring positions in the hospitality, customer service, finance, health and social care and manufacturing sectors.

Organisations offering new career opportunities include the new Holiday Inn Express, Hitachi, Marstons, the NHS and Barclays.

The National Careers Service, Middlesbrough Community Learning and the Department of Work and Pensions will be on hand to provide support and guidance in completing applications and looking for work.

The Fair - organised by Middlesbrough Council - will also see the launch of the Tees Valley Routeways and Tees Valley Pathways project in Middlesbrough which forms part of the Youth Employment Initiative.

This a consortium of 28 partners (including the five Local Authorities across Tees Valley and led by Hartlepool Borough Council) which will help young people aged 15 to 29 to move into employment and learning using different and innovative methods.

Middlesbrough Mayor Dave Budd, said that more businesses were looking to invest in the town and added: “The latest Job Fair is a great opportunity to find out more about the companies and the roles they’re looking to fill - I hope as many people as possible come along.”

The Job Fair takes place at Middlesbrough College on Wednesday, July 13 from 10am – 3 pm. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend. Café areas are available on site for refreshments.
