A NEW street food quarter will feature at the second annual food festival to be held in Middlesbrough's Stewart Park.

The event, which this year is on Sunday, May 22, attracted thousands of visitors last year and this year organisers wanted to introduce something new.

Co-organiser Nigel Davison said: "We had a great year in 2015 and we hope to create another great day for visitors this year."

There will be a new area near the Bolckow visitor's centre for hot food with vegan food, noodles, and barbecue options available.

Entertaining visitors in the food area will be Irish traditional acoustic duo Andy Broderick and Ray Legg.

Forty stalls in total will be at the festival, which celebrates small North-East farming and food businesses, including stalls selling outdoor reared pork, dexter breed beef, spices, artisan bread and cider, among other items.

New additions to the market area will be Beehive Beauty Products, the Mini Shed Potter, Parlour Made Cheese from Sedgefield and Beeline Plants.

There will also be a craft market inside the visitor's centre.

The festival - on from 9am to 4pm - is run by the partnership of Northern Dales Farmers Markets and Askham Bryan College.
