THE over-exuberant celebrations of football fans in Middlesbrough town centre has not left everybody with the premiership feeling.

Revellers celebrating Boro's promotion out of the Championship left behind a few unsavoury reminders of their excesses.

The town's Centre Square was left awash with broken bottles and empty beer cans as fans celebrated into the night.

And their paths home were littered with piles of rubbish and vomit as the town awoke to a hangover of filthy proportions.

A film uploaded onto social media showing fans celebrating by throwing bottles into the air has been roundly criticised by many people in the town.

The footage, which has been viewed almost 250,000 times, shows people clearly having no regard for others around them as some people are forced to duck out of the way of flying objects.

One comment on the footage reads: "A fantastic day spoilt by idiots! These are not real Boro fans these are the so called glory hunters! They Must be because I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to throwing bottles where kids are and trashing our town and giving the genuine fans an bad name! And after getting promoted, Should be ashamed of yourselves!"
