FOLLOWING the success of the Tour de Yorkshire in Middlesbrough an exhibition is to open to celebrate the history of cycling.

The exhibition will be displayed at Gallery TS1 in the town and will feature a collection of paintings, drawings, textiles and photography submitted by Teesside artists designed to reflect effect of the bicycle from its invention in 1817 to its 21st century equivalent.

The exhibition runs from Saturday, May 3 until Friday, June 3. The gallery is open 10am and 4pm Monday to Saturday. Admission is free.

Artists are invited to submit work towards the exhibition by contacting the gallery by email on contactgalleryts1@gmail.com. The cost is £5 per three entries.
