A CHILDREN'S hospice has received a financial boost after a housebuilder handed over a cheque for £1,350.

David Wilson Homes North East has donated the money to the Zoe’s Place in Middlesbrough, which provides palliative, respite and end-of-life care to infants.

Staff from the nearby Grey Towers Village development in Nunthorpe visited the hospice to see some of the vital work they do in helping infants aged from birth to five years old suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, as well as offering support to their families.

Steve Ball, Sales Manager for Grey Towers Village, said: “Zoe’s Place is such a wonderful charity and one very close to a lot of people’s hearts in Middlesbrough.

They help and support many infants and their families’ everyday, so we’re very pleased we are able to donate these funds.”

The children's hospice, which receives a small level of funding from the government, relies on donations and fundraising events to help care for sick children and support their families.
