A 25-YEAR-OLD man was this afternoon airlifted to hospital after suffering severe head injuries in a collision between a car and a motorbike.
The incident happened at the junction of Marton Road and Ladgate Lane in Middlesbrough at 4.50pm.
The man was anaethatised at the scene before he was flown by the Great North Air Ambulance Service to James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
He suffered head and pelvic injuries and his conditon was described as critical.
The road was closed for several hours.
