POLICE are appealing for information after a 51-year-old man was threatened in an attempted robbery.

The offence took place on farm land between Springbank Lane in Ormesby and Cypress Road in Marton, Middlesbrough.

It happened between 12.30pm and 1pm on Saturday, January 30 when an unknown man and woman approached the victim who was walking his dog and they threatened him with a baton and demanded money.

The victim refused to give them any money and the suspects headed off in the direction of Ormesby.

The male suspect is described as a white male, about 6 ft tall, in his late 20s to early 30s with an unshaved goatee beard and cropped dark hair. He was wearing a pale blue top, dark trainers and dark bottoms with white socks tucked into the bottoms.

The female suspect is described as a white, of big build and about 5 ft 10ins tall. She was wearing black leggings with trainers.
