TWO females have been taken to hospital after a four vehicle crash near near Pallister Park, Middlesbrough.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 6.40pm at the junction of Ormesby Road and Cranmore Road.
Fire crews from Middlesbrough cut a woman driver free from the wreckage. She was then taken by ambulance to hospital.
A second female was taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
A spokesman for Cleveland Police said no-one was understood to have been seriously injured.
It is understood that a white BMW was involved in a collision with a black 4x4, which then hit an Audi carrying a woman and two young children.
The white BMW X6 then drove off and was later abandoned less than a mile away on Kings Road.
The fire brigade remained at the scene until 7.40pm while they made the road safe and cleared debris from the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to call Cleveland Police on 101.
