A MAN has been charged following a crash on the A66 on Monday morning.
A 51-year-old man was arrested after his Toyota Corolla collided with an Iveco van on the A66 southbound close near Normanby Road at about 7am.
Cleveland Police said the man abandoned his vehicle, leaving a female passenger in her 40s inside.
The man was later arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
The woman had to be freed from the wreckage of the vehicle by firefighters using cutting equipment.
The woman and two men in the Iveco van were taken to James Cook University Hospital.
Police confirmed on Monday afternoon that a the man had been charged with drink driving, driving without a licence and driving without due care and attention.
He is due to appear before Teesside magistrates later this month.
