SNOOP Dogg the parrot has been found and returned safe and well to his owner.

The African grey was stolen along with his partner parrot, Missy, during a house burglary in Middlesbrough but now both have been found and returned to their owner, Joanna Mason.

The parrots were stolen from their home on Bransdale Road, Berwick Hills, between Thursday, September 24 and Monday, September 28.

Missy was found by a member of the public nearby and was returned on Wednesday and now Snoop Dogg has been handed in anonymously.

The parrots are know to repeat cheeky sayings including, 'giz a tickle,' and 'give us a big fat kiss.' They also chirp along to the Match of the Day theme tune.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: "We would like to thank everyone who has helped with this incident and to everyone who shared the posts via social media, it is much appreciated."

African greys can live for 50-70 years in the wild, but they are becoming more rare, and some birds can fetch up to £1,000. They are said to be highly intelligent.

Anyone who may have information about the burglary should call PC Andrew Hampson on the non-emergency 101 number, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
