A SPECIAL tribute has been planted at the scene of a crash which claimed the life of Middlesbrough father Andrew Corfield.

A shrubbery bed in the shape of a heart has been planted on Cass House Road, Hemlington, where he died in October last year.

The tribute has been funded by Hemlington Community Council.

Mr Corfield and his daughter Alice were near their home when another car crashed into theirs. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and Alice, now 18, suffered massive internal injuries and is still undergoing treatment as she cannot eat, speak or sit up on her own.

Jake McCabe, 18, was jailed for more than seven years in December for causing the crash.
