A WALK is to take place between two of Middlesbrough’s most famous landmarks – Newport Bridge and the Transporter Bridge.

The free event on Saturday (June 6) between 1pm and 3pm will take in the ironmasters district, dinosaur park and the old town before arriving at the Transporter Bridge.

It is organised by photographer Michele Allen and local poet and historian Morbid.

The walk is described as being fairly easy on flat ground and smooth paths and will appeal to amateur photographers or just those wanting to enjoy fantastic views of the Tees. No booking is necessary.

It is being organised in association with Northern Architecture as part of BRIDGE: Engineering Education, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

For more information or for details on heritage workshops taking place in the area over the summer contact Michele Allen by email – reddubgirl@aol.com or call 07766038052.
