AN ALLEGED cashpoint scammer is set to face trial in August.
Vasile Simion, of Ilford, Essex, required a translator when he appeared in the dock at Teesside Crown Court on charges of conspiracy to commit theft.
Prosecutor David Crook said the 26-year-old was suspected of using what he described as a ‘Lebanese loop’ device at the Lloyds TSB cashpoint in Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough.
Simion did not enter a formal plea and the case was adjourned until August 7. A trial date of the week beginning August 24 was provisionally set.
