A 27-YEAR-OLD drug dealer's seized money was officially handed over to the authorities at court today (Thursday, May 28).
Steven McGladdery, of Moorbeck Way, Ormesby, Middlesbrough, was jailed for three years at Teesside Crown Court in January on four counts of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class C drugs, including cocaine.
Police seized £815 from McGladdery at the time of his arrest and the drug dealer was made to return to court to hear the money was officially being taken by the authorities.
McGladdery made headlines in 2007 when he stole and wrecked an ambulance when it was still on call and writing it off during a police chase in Middlesbrough, costing the ambulance service about £120,000. He was sentenced to three years for the crime.
He has also been convicted of burgling the home of an elderly couple 2010 for which he was jailed for 16 months and was the first person on Teesside to receive three Asbos in a row as a teenager.
None of the earlier crimes were discussed at court today.
