POLICE said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a young mother was found dead in her home.
The 27-year-old, named locally as Carla Vickers, was discovered at the house on Kildare Street in the Gresham area of Middlesbrough.
The house was cordoned off while Cleveland Police carried out investigations.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “Police were called to a property on Kildare Street, Middlesbrough, at about 5pm yesterday (Thursday) evening following the discovery of the body of a 27-year-old woman.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.”
A neighbour said: “Police and ambulance were there about teatime. I’ve known her since she was a kid.
“She looked alright the last time I saw her. It’s a shock to hear she’s died.”
Another woman on the street said Ms Vickers has a nine-year-old son, but he was not believed to have been at the house at the time.
