A HOSPICE is celebrating after raising more than £10,000 thanks to its Tree of Life.

Teesside Hospice's annual campaign has beaten last year's fundraising figure and has boosted the charity's coffers.

Jane O’Byrne, fundraising manager, said “All this would not have been possible without the help of our loyal sponsors Cooperative Funeral Care. With the Cooperative’s generosity we have been able to ensure that every penny donated to the Tree of Life goes directly towards caring for our patients at the Hospice.

"Whether you wish to celebrate the life of your loved one, take a moment to honour their memory or simply send a festive wish to somebody you care about, the Tree of Life gives you the chance to do this whilst symbolising the spirit of Christmas."

People can still support the scheme by placing a dedication on the Tree of Life, by visiting Middlesbrough's Hillstreet Shopping Centre, or one of our other community Tree’s located at Tesco in Ingleby Barwick, B&Q Skippers Lane or Teesside Crematorium until December 21.

You can also make a dedication online by visiting www.support.teessidehospice.org/event/TreeofLife2014

All supporters of the campaign are invited to attend a special Remembrance Service held at Teesside Hospice at 7pm on Monday, December 22 where the Tree will be blessed and loved ones will be remembered.

The outdoor service is free of charge to attend and refreshments will be available afterwards.
