CULT British jewellery brand, Tatty Devine, has given its 15th birthday collection to mima for its new gallery.

The 15-piece collection will go on show alongside more than 200 pieces from the 1970s onwards to create what is believed to be the finest public collection of international contemporary jewellery in the UK.

The permanent gallery, developed in partnership with Teesside University, will open on Saturday, October 4.

Tatty Devine, an independent British company, creates unsual lasercut jewellery in acrylic. It has designed ranges for the Tate galleries across the UK, Victoria and Albert Museum, South Bank and the Baltic Gateshead where 'Angel of the North' jewellery was made for artist Antony Gormley.
