A PENSIONER has been robbed at a cash point outside a Post Office.

The 74-year-old man was withdrawing money on Chipchase Road in Middlesbrough at about 10.35am on Saturday, September 6, when another man reached over his shoulder and grabbed his wallet and money.

A struggle ensued and the victim and suspect fell to the floor. The suspect then made off along Brompton Road, with the cash and wallet, but left one of his shoes at the scene. The victim suffered minor injuries in the incident and was left shaken. He did not require hospital treatment.

The suspect is described as wearing a red hooded top with the sleeves rolled up to his elbow, a light coloured cap with the hood of his jumper up over the top, blue jeans and black trainers. It is believed he was in the area for about thirty minutes prior to the incident.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or the suspect is asked to contact DC Marie Appleby on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555111.
