A FORMER councillor has returned to the town she represented to take part in a six-week exhibition of her artwork.
Máire McSorley, who represented the Clairville area of Middlesbrough before moving to Oxford with her family, will be showing 31 pieces of her work at the Python Gallery starting on Friday (August 29).
She said: “I’ve painted images throughout my life and I’ve also been a very keen photographer. Over the past 14 or 15 years I’ve put the two together, creating and presenting images, using digital media as my main tool.
“I now paint with pixels instead of watercolour or acrylics and use a mouse instead of a brush.”
Her ‘Ahead – Art in Digital Media’ exhibition runs until October 10 at the gallery in Gosford Street, Middlesbrough.
