A UNIQUE caving experience, the only one of its kind in the UK, is coming to Middlesbrough.

The 90ft tunneling adventure, belonging to Odin Events, will be the main attraction at the 2014 Easterside Partnership Fun Day.

Sam Scott, community outreach worker for the Easterside Partnership, said: “We are really excited to have the artificial cave coming. Climbing walls are always really popular at community fun days but we think this is on a whole new level.

“When you add in so many more first rate attractions, this might be the best event we have held.”

The artificial caving system has 90ft of tunneling on two levels with twists and turns, vertical squeezes, and realistic boulders, rocks and fossils to negotiate.

As well as the main attraction the event will also host a puppet show and disco, go karts, balloon modelling, henna and face painting, craft stalls, a live band, food and refreshments, a kids dance show, bike repairs, hook-a-duck, tombola, raffles and sports games.

Also making appearances on the day will be Spiderman and characters from the Disney animation Frozen.

The event will be held at Easterside Community Hub, in and around St Agnes Church and the shopping precinct on Broughton Avenue tomorrow (Wednesday, August 20) from 11am-3pm.
