A SUPPORT group for adults and teenager affected by dyspraxia is urging new members to get in touch.

The group is part of Roseberry Community Consortium, a registered charity helping disadvantaged groups of young people across the Tees Valley.

The consortium runs fortnightly social support groups for people of any age affected by dyspraxia. Since 2016, the adult support group has seen an increase in members, with activities including workshops in baking, preparing for job interviews, personal goals, crafts and improving co-ordination.

Last year the charity launched a dyspraxia support group for parents and children which offers advice and support, an opportunity to make friends, activities for children, workshops for parents and a chance to talk to experts.

A spokesperson for the consortium said: "We are looking for more parents and dyspraxic children to join the group. There are volunteering opportunities available.

"It is important to spread the word about the groups. Dyspraxia is a condition that poorly misunderstood and recognised.

"We are very passionate about supporting local people affected by dyspraxia."

Anyone affected by the condition interested in joining one of the groups can contact Pritthijit Datta on 07804 368585, email dyspraxiateesside@mail.com or see www.dyspraxiasupport.org
