A BIKER has died following a crash between his motorcycle and a lorry.

The 25-year-old was killed when the vehicles collided at the Wolviston roundabout at the end of the A689, near Hartlepool.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called around 4.45pm and treated the man at the roadside before he was taken to Middlesbrough’s James Cook University Hospital by road.

A statement from Cleveland Police said: “Sadly the 25-year-old rider of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased shortly after the collision.

“Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this difficult time.”

Traffic was diverted from the area of the collision into Wolviston Village.
