The road has been closed by police
A BUSY commuter route connecting to the A1(M) and A19 was closed following a two-car crash.
Emergency services shut the A689 Hartlepool Road at Wynyard Village with the closure affecting traffic heading to the A19 since around 6.30am on Thursday morning.
The eastbound carriageway was closed between The Meadows and Glenarm Road following the accident believed to have been caused by ice on the road at The Wynd.
Around 11.15am, Cleveland Police announced the road had reopened.
